

**Learning Management System & Authoring Tool
TopPharm Genossenschaft
With around 120 independent pharmacies and a total of 1,800 employees, TopPharm Apotheken und Drogerien Genossenschaft is the largest independent pharmacy group in German-speaking Switzerland. TopPharm pharmacies focus on providing their customers with holistic, personal and competent health advice. In the growing healthcare market, TopPharm is the alternative to pharmacy chains - a grouping that focuses on quality, transparency, fairness and innovation and strengthens the profession of independent pharmacists in the long term. The head office in Münchenstein (BL) with around 40 employees is responsible for the operational management of the TopPharm cooperative. Further information about TopPharm can be found here.

The challenge
Better usability and more flexibility
TopPharm was looking for a new Learning Management System to replace the previous learning platform. The platform used at the time was not intuitive to use for both administrators and users, and customizations could only be implemented with great effort or not at all. The solution used at the time was not sufficiently adaptable to the special structures of a cooperative. For these reasons, TopPharm decided to introduce a new Learning Management System that would simplify the previous tasks, open up new possibilities and be more user-friendly for the learners.
The solution
A customized LMS
youknow developed a customized LMS for TopPharm that covers the outlined requirements. The LMS enables both digital learning modules to be played out and presentation seminars to be recorded - in a simple and intuitive way. The administration of participants is also easy. All learning content is made available to the target group via a catalog. An individual training history is saved for each user, which can be viewed by the user themselves, by the responsible coordinators of the respective pharmacy and by the system administrators at TopPharm headquarters.
Target groups of the LMS
The LMS is used for various target groups. On the one hand, employees of the TopPharm head office use it for administrative tasks. On the other hand, pharmacies and their employees who belong to the TopPharm cooperative access it. Depending on the target group, certain rights can be defined in the system and suitable courses can be played out. A total of around 4,500 learners use the TopPharm LMS, and more than 800 seminars and learning modules have already been created.
Feedback & target achievement
Other functions such as comprehensive reporting and an automated form system for participant lists, name labels etc. increase efficiency.
Those responsible in the pharmacies now have an overview of the training requirements of individual pharmacy employees and can book them directly onto specific training courses. This makes it possible to respond to the individual needs of individual employees. The pharmacists' training points can also be viewed at any time.
Last but not least, the new LMS also brings benefits for learners. Booking seminars and online training courses is simple and intuitive. An overview of your own training history and a bonus system with attractive rewards promote motivation, make you want to learn and increase learning success.

TopPharm creates content itself: With an Authoring Tool from youknow
During the course of the project, TopPharm also decided to introduce the Authoring Tool from youknow. Previously, the TopPharm cooperative had its digital learning content created by external service providers who also worked with the youknow Authoring Tool. With the Authoring Tool, TopPharm can now develop all existing courses independently and create new training courses itself. This allows the cooperative to map the entire training process internally and work much more cost-efficiently and quickly.
The TopAcademy is constantly being optimized and further developed. For example, further content types for digital training are planned and a native app for Android and iOS is to be developed.
